Overview
Welcome to the Duke University School of Medicine’s Financial Aid Office web site. We invite you to browse these pages and feel free to contact us if you do not find what you are looking for.
The Duke University School of Medicine places a high priority on need-based financial assistance for its students with a particular emphasis on grants and low-interest loans. US citizenship or permanent residence visa is required of all students receiving federal or institutional aid through the school.
Financial aid application information will be distributed to students during the interview process. A reminder of the application procedures will be mailed to accepted students in early March. You should complete the application process early to ensure a financial aid award has been made before you need to make a decision about attending Duke Medical School (generally May 15).
For purposes of the schools' need based funds, the student is not viewed as financially independent of parents. Student's will need to provide both parent's information on the Need Access. Parental information will be used to determine grant eligibility each year of enrollment. This information will be collected each year regardless of age or change in marital status.
Annual re-application is required of all aid recipients. Upperclass students are urged to apply by May 1, 2008 to meet the initial application deadline.
